Rape

In my sociology class we have been talking about the issues on rape. So what is rape? Rape is the forcing of somebody into sex, the crime of using force somebody to have sexual intercourse with somebody. This issue is very serious, and people that are raped do not tell anyone usually, because they are scared of the stereotypes they will end up with. So people usually point fingers at the people who are probably the most innocent in the case. The people that are raped are usually the ones that society blames saying it was there fault for letting it happen. No it is not their fault it is the person that thought they had the right to do such a horrible thing. The people that were the one that raped someone say they didn’t’ think they were doing anything wrong.  So when the people hear that they didn’t know they were doing anything wrong, people believe them. People need to be more educated about rape so if these people didn’t think they were they could be more educated about rape. I agree that the songs that we listen to have some very bad lyrics that some kids look past, and don’t even realize what they are listening to. Like in the song Blurred Lines rape victims said that a lot of the lyrics in the song are what there predators said to them. That is not the only song that has bad lyrics either. I think in America we point fingers at media and say that it is there fault that kids are listening to their music or television shows and showing that it is okay to rape someone because you feel like it! Rape is something that needs to be talked about more often so that people know more about it and how to stay out of those situations.
