Birth Order
Have you ever wondered why do people have different personalities? It may be because of your birth order! In my sibling order I'm the oldest child, researchers say that the oldest child is responsible, driven, leadership, and conservative. I'm not a leader in any way I would say I'm more of a follower. I can be responsible at times but I wouldn't say all the time. Therefore I do not see any of the things they have described the oldest children as myself. I will say though I do boss my siblings around, but I also watch out for them like a parent would. I also do try to follow my parents wishes. Now my brother is the middle child I would agree with the things they described the middle child as. He is very creative but there are some traits that he has that are what researchers describe the oldest children as. He is a perfectionist where I am not all the time. They say most of the presidents in the United States are the oldest children well I could see my brother being more of a president just because of his charecteristics. I think I have more of the middle child traits then the oldest. I think what they have as the youngest childrens charecteristics are very close. My sister is the youngest and is defnitaly thinks she is entertaining, which she can be sometimes. She is very dependeble but that is because when you have older siblings the siblings just do everything for you. The only thing I would not agree with for the youngest sibling is they say that the youngest are laid-back my sister is not laid-back, but it probably all just depends on the family. I believe some of the things researchers say about birth order traits, but any of those traits could be found in any of the children. I agree with Dalton Conley, arthor of "The Pecking Order." He explains that there are a lot of other factors that affect the behavior of children." Early death of a parent, timing of ecomomic shocks to the family, gender expectations and roles in the family, you name it," Conley said. I believe this is true outside influences and random events can also have an effect on children.
